018 - Stupid Bitch

(Wearing: Secondhand Dress and Boots, Tree of Life Woollen Shawl Cape Shawl Things, Assorted Jewellery)

"Denis, what should I name this post?" I ask, getting more and more frustrated as I can't figure out a witty title for this abysmally simple university outfit.
"Just call it, I'm a stupid bitch." He responds, pulling a grotesque face involving multiple chins, and a creepy & crooked smile.
This is a prime example of the conversations that Denis and I have. The faces we pull, emphasising the stupidity of our responses. The joys of having a dick-head for a best friend, I honestly would not have it any other way. I mention Denis in almost every single post on here, and that's probably not going to change in the near future. He is my photographer, collaborating stylist, fashion enthusiast, and gorgeous little dingbat. So here's to best friends and their wonderful-ness.

Outtake: Minka Sicklinger

(Images from here, hereherehere and here

Howdy folks! Yet again another inspiration post, however a little different from the usual. In the last few days, I stumbled upon Minka Sicklinger on the blog Moon to Moon. Good ole' Instagram helped with the stalking process, and voila! This weeks current obsession. I've always had a love for tattoos, that love growing to phenomenal and almost obsessive heights earlier this year when I got my first (and illegal) tattoo. I turn 18 in two weeks (legal age for tattoos), and I'm now keeping an eye out for designs and works that speak volumes to me - in hope that maybe, I will find an artist that resounds with me.
Minka Sicklinger is a fellow Aussie and artist, now residing in New York. She is currently tattooing out of Eastside Ink in NY - her art and tattoo's "paying homage to our evolutionary selves." This is reflected in her use of delicate lines, that suggest indigenous influences and her love for natural imagery.  She draws heavily from her extensive textile and jewellery collection (forming from her studies and work as a stylist), taxidermy, shamanic art and lots and lots of travel.

So if you have any suggestions for any other artists (canvas/skin/paper whatever) that might inspire and interest me, drop me a comment and let me know!

017 - High Rider

Wearing: American Apparel Sheer Dress, Thrifted Crochet Vest, Boots & Shell Belt, Harley Davidson Hat from eBay, Vintage Shorts and Assorted Jewellery

Finally, I have a new outfit to post! It was blowing a gale outside whilst I was taking these photos and the wind chill factor was deathly but I'm a sook and Australian Autumns/Winters are nothing compared to what some countries experience... Uni study is killing me, so many assignments due in the next 2 weeks which means a few all nighters will be pulled, resulting in a very grumpy and stressed Taylor. If I'm not at university I'm with the boyf, Ben, lazing the days away in bed sleeping or eating or playing Sims 3 together - the pros of a being a lazy teenager.
My best friend, Denis, has finally finished all of his Law exams, and today we ventured into the city to spend a well deserved shopping day together. We headed to Glebe Markets (which were mostly washed out due to the massive amount of rain we had overnight) then to Newtown which resulted in a few small things being bought from this kooky store.

All in all, a very nice day spent with my very nice bestie in very nice areas of Sydney.

Outtake: Inspiring Interiors Pt.2

All images sourced from Tumblr or Instagram

Here is the second part to my inspiring interiors, much like the first half - it shows my love for dark furnishings, clutter, vintage accessories and plant life.

016 - Cry Wolf

Wearing: Sportsgirl Lace Bellbottoms, JC Litas, Vintage T shirt, Tree of Life Hat (w/ eBay concho band) and Assorted Jewellery.

Today is just a little snippet of an outfit I wore almost 6 months ago and never managed to blog about because I'm very good at forgetting things. It's also because I don't have any recent outfits to post because uni hasn't given me the time to take photos which sucks big time.

Outtake: 'Kill Surf City' Lookbook by Tunnel Vision

Photos: Tunnel Vision 2012 Kill Surf City Lookbook

This lookbook was the first of dynamic duo and bloggers, Madeline and Brit, for their online vintage store Tunnel Vision. I'm not particularly articulate when it comes to discussing and describing the aesthetics of style within lookbooks/brands/whatever so here it goes: perfectly witchy and bohemian with a flair of nostalgic rocker road trips.
