046 - Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board

Wearing: Mink Pink velvet bustier top, Thrifted skirt, belt & bag, Windsor Smith clogs, Assorted jewellery

This last week or so has just flown by in a blur. Leaving me slightly disorientated, a little lost and very relieved. I've finally finished my first year of university, I got my first High Distinction mark of the year, and I'm still just as confused as to where I am heading in life. And to be honest, I couldn't give less of a fuck. Just as the wise Daria once said, "My goal is to not wake up at forty with the bitter realisation that I've wasted my life in a job I hate, because I was forced to decide on a career in my teens."

(Also would any of you be interested in reading the essay that got my first HD? I'm thinking about posting it along with my next outfit. Comment and let me know.)

  3. I posted that Daria quote to my facebook timeline too, along with the scene in the cartoon... I feel it too!...and that's one of the reasons I've never worked in an office or for anyone really..I've always done my thing, freelance, painter, writer, I traded my city life for a quiet relaxed bohemian one at the Caribbean and I love it... I don't want to wake up in my 40's still working as a marketing analyst just because my parents forced me into studying that...and so I did.
CONGRATS! on the essay, I'd love to read it if you wanna share...and cool look..is it inspired by the kraft movie?..I'm just wondering because of the title of the post...anyway, digging it...stay cool!

    1. thank you so much! I can never picture myself doing an office job, working the boring 9-5 - every day would feel like groundhog day! and my look is slightly inspired by the craft, I mostly love that scene and it fit in nicely with the feathers on my skirt :) xxxx (p.s i'm also following you too!)

  6. YES! Post it! I would love to read it! I don't think it's normal to know what career you want to fully pursue at this age and there can't be anything worse than being pressured to study for a job/career you hate (and by hate, I mean don't 110% love). That would be like imprisoning yourself, ya know? All this means is that in a few months or years, you'll really know what you want to dedicate yourself to and you'll be so passionate about it and stoked about getting up in the morning and getting to work.

    1. I'm posting it on friday!!! And yes, I totally agree with you that it is normal to be a little lost in the career world, seriously the expectations put on the youth of society are so fucked up... But, alas, I'm slowly and surely coming to terms with who i want to be when i'm a grown up hahaha. THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU
