043 - Daemon Lover

Wearing: DIY silk velvet kimono, Thrifted dress and belt, Windsor Smith clogs, Caitlan's necklace, Assorted vintage/market jewellery

You took me for lovin' kindness sake
You don't give love, you only take
But after all I can't let you go
'Cos I love you so Daemon Lover

I've waited months just for the right moment to wear my little kimono creation, it had to be the right weather and right feeling going on, and Caitlan and I's market stall was the perfect opportunity. All it took for me to make my wondrous kimono was two scarves off eBay - just search burnout velvet scarf - and three rows of stitching. It makes me feel like an ethereal witchy woman, and I love it!
Have any of you guys cheated your way through hundreds of ridiculous dollars to make the perfect item of clothing or even thrifted a piece of clothing that you later found out came from an expensive brand? (ahem Caitlan found out that she opshopped a pair of pants for $3 and they're made by Shakuhachi)

Outtake: 'Eye of Horus' Lookbook by Child of Wild

'Eye of Horus' Fall 2013 Lookbook by Child of Wild (photos taken from their Facebook)

I know that you're all probably following Child of Wild on facebook/instagram/pinterest or whatever other social media platform that exists, but this lookbook KILLS ME. Full of Hmong tribal cuffs and Turkish collars, with native tribal prints inlaid within the photos, this collection is styled for a wandering spirit, who feels more at home out in nature then behind closed doors. She is a dustland fairytale dweller who sees the beauty in eclectic things that speak to her soul. And I cannot get enough of the Egyptian mysticism details!

042 - Underbelly of a Mushroom

Wearing: Vintage leggings, t-shirt, bag & boots, Lovestrength concho belt, Assorted jewellery

Life updates:
  • Apologies for the mini hiatus - university assignments got the better of me and I haven't had time for my usual two or three posts a week.
  • This outfit is a little different for me, as I'm not really much of a leggings person - but these are the exception. Just look at the colour! Brown/plummy/purple/eggplant velvety goodness!
  • My new belt arrived from the website Lovestrength. I've been wanting my own concho belt for the longest time ever (as I always borrow Caitlan's and it was just getting ridiculous) and this one is beyond perfect!
  • My iPhone 5 was lost/stolen yesterday, and I'm half sad about it being gone, and half disappointed in myself for being so reliant on it.
  • But tomorrow Caitlan and I are having another market stall, this time at Caringbah Markets (southern suburbs of Sydney) so if anyone reading this is happens to be in the area or feel like having an adventure, definitely come visit us! We will be there from 7am to 1pm.
Have a nice weekend guys, and I'll be back on Monday with another outfit!

Outtake: Saraphima Lookbook 'Dimensions' by SERPENTFIRE

Saraphima Lookbook 2 'Dimensions by SERPENTFIRE (Photos from their Cargo Collective and Facebook)

I am completely, and utterly obsessed by everything that Devany Wolfe creates. SERPENTFIRE is just an amazing mish-mash of psychedlic, ethereal, mystic gypsy & cosmic goddess elements that evolve into insane film and digital art conceptions. Miss Wolfe has recently expanded her creative talents into Saraphima, a clothing line that pays homage to indigenous and other ancient cultures from all over the world and all points in history. AND I AM IN LOVE!
It really reminds me of a quintessential Biba girl - the fashion store/iconic look that took the world by storm in the 60s and 70s in Britain, and it also reminds of an esoteric new-age book I picked up in a second hand bookstore which tells me to praise the Goddess, and hail to the four corners of the earth.
What do you think of this lookbook? Have you seen the other Saraphima lookbook? Take a geeze at the links below and let me know what you think!

041 - Milky Perversion

Wearing: Thrifted sheer midi dress, Supre slip dress, Thrifted conch shell belt, Vintage coral beaded bag, Vintage boots, Assorted jewellery from Ishka, Inspired Tribe & Markets

I think this is possibly one of my favourite outfits ever?! I'm totally digging midi dresses because they're really flattering to my body shape and they have just enough sassiness for me to rock. This one is particularly special because; a) it's sheer and b) palm leaves, duhh! I wore this outfit at our market stall last Saturday and I threw it on again because I just had to have it documented and photographed and blogged about. I am really obsessed with the whole cohesiveness and coordination of my outfit - the coral, beads, shells, jewellery. I don't know, I just love the shit I come up with sometimes. Okay, well have a nice week you lovely people and I'll be back once I am done drowning in 4000 words of university assignments.

Outtake: Justlooking4now Etsy Store

(All items for sale on Justlooking4now Etsy)

Sorry for being absent this last week, I've been a bit out of it and have been preoccupied with everything else but blogging. Caitlan and I's stall at Glebe Markets went well, we met lots of interesting and vibrant people! Namely the lovely Jodi (of and for those of you who are following me on Instagram would've seen the crazy photo I took of her bejewelled hands! And she got me thinking about how desperately I need myself a petite point turquoise zuni cuff.
So today I decided to feature one of my favourite Etsy stores, Justlooking4now. A seller of vintage, unique and eclectic native american tribal jewellery. If you haven't seen this store, go check it out now! Hope you all have a lovely Monday, I'll have an outfit up later in the week.
